10th WOMEN U-20 AFRICAN NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP-Day three:

EGYPT WOMEN TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SPOT

Abuja, Nigeria, October 17-: Egypt women U-20 team became the second team of its country to have a World Championship vacancy after the Boys U-19 team after their straight sets victory (25-21, 25-12, 25-20) over the Organizers, Nigeria in the final of the tenth Women U-20 African Nations Championship in Abuja, Nigeria to Qualify to the 2005 Women U-20 World Championship in Turkey. Egypt boys had before one of the two African vacancies with Tunisia in 2005 Boys U-19 World Championship in Algeria two weeks ago.

In the first set of the final Nigerian team had the powerful start to lead 8-7 after successful blocks of Theress Okonmah who won the prize of best blocker in the competition. Then Egypt started the high net performance of Sherihan Sameh who became the most valuable player to lead 16-14, and then ended the set 25-21 in 23 minutes.

In the second set Ingy Hamdy started its high performance by the net to help sherhan to get many points to win the set comfortably 25-21 in 21 minutes.

Nigerian team tried to save the match in the third set by the good defense of the Libero Adeshola Oladapo to came near Egypt all through the set till the Egyptian setter Eman Sarwat led her team through skillful setting to both Ingy and Sherhan to win the set 25-20 in 21 minutes.
