withdrawal of Kenya from hosting the 23rd African Club
Champion Championship Women, CAVB has granted to Egypt
the organization of the competition to be held in Cairo,
Egypt from 25th of April to 5th of May 2008 |

Africa, November 21, 2007- South Africa will be going to
have the honor of hosting another FIVB Development
Centre in Africa following the active preparations of
the South African Volleyball activities led by FIVB’s
newly elected Board member, VSA President, Tubby Reddy
who also serves on the World Body’s Development
Commission to persuade the FIVB to establish this centre
there to help the South African countries to have more
development courses in that area which will aim to
improve the volleyball infrastructure in this area. |

Algeria, August 31, 2007-: The Algerian International
volleyball player Ali Kerboua will sign a professional
contract with the French club of Olympic Marseille for
the 2007-2008 season after his great performance in the
last continental competitions whether at the club level
with his original club Mouloudia of Alger or with the
Algerian National team. |

Kioni mourns NOC-Kenya Secretary General Tom O'Omuombo
Nairobi, Kenya, August 16: The sports fraternity in
Kenya was thrown into mourning yesterday following the
death of National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K)
Secretary General Tom O'Omuombo.
O'Omuombo who was instrumental in supporting volleyball
in the country passed on at a hospital in China where he
had been admitted while on official duties ahead of next
year's Olympic Games in Beijing. |
