Egypt, December 21-: Zamalek of Egypt added a new
African title under their belt after they won the trophy
of the eighteenth Men’s African Cup winners Cup after a
classic Egyptian – Tunisian final against Etoile Du
Sahel of Tunisia following their victory 3-1 at Police
hall in Cairo Egypt on Thursday. Saydia of Tunisia won
the bronze medal following their victory over Bejaia of
Algeria in the 3rd position match.. |

Tokyo,
3rd December 2006 – Brazil easily brushed past
Poland in the final of the 2006 FIVB Men’s World
Championship to defend their title on Sunday. The team’s
second consecutive World Championship gold medal
maintains their position of leader in all international
Volleyball events as reigning World, Olympic and World
League Champions as well as World Cup Champions and
World Grand Champions. |

Volleyball Peace Philosophy
Nagano,
Japan, November 23-: Volleyball showed many
expressions of peace during the 2006 FIVB World
Championships in Japan as the FIVB President Dr. Ruben
Acosta insists to involve our beloved sport in the World
community and to make the sport as a peace message all
over the world. As Dr. Acosta attended the Peace
Ceremony in Hiroshima to commemorate the victims of the
Atomic bomb on Thursday, there was another peace
ceremony in Nagano but with a different view. |

Kenya and Uganda Share
Uganda’s Beach volleyball Tour
Antebbe, Uganda, December 4-:
The first ever-international beach volleyball tournament
sponsored by Club Pilsener concluded on Sunday the 3rd
at Lido Beach Resort Entebbe with Kenya and Uganda
sharing Club cash while Rwanda could only manage to
reach the quarter final stage in the women’s category.
Rwandan ladies Denyse Mukarukundo and Aline Mutabazi
were eliminated in the quarters by Kenya’s Eunice Maiyo
with partner Doris Muyekho 12-21, 18-21
The two-day event attracted 4 teams from Rwanda, 4 teams
from Kenya and 24 teams from the hosts Uganda. |

the Competition was successful, the organization and the level
of the teams, very exciting matches
the spectature reached to 3000 at the Semifinal BRN - KSA, the
nice Folklore Singers and Band were playing all times with
Bahrainian spectatures, The Tunisian, Saudian, Algerian, and
Bahrain teams show high level skills, and fighting.The African
Teams, TUN, ALG, and SUD were good image of Africa Volleyball. |
Pipeline, GSU win volleyball
leagues in Kenya
Nairobi, Monday November 20: Former African Women
Volleyball Club champions Kenya Pipeline over the weekend
successfully retained the national women volleyball league in
Kenya.While Pipeline stunned Kenya Commercial Bank 3-0 (25-23,
25-21, 25-17) sets in the finals to retain the women title,
General Service Unite (GSU) were not left behind when they swept
past Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) 3-1 in the finals to retain the
men’s title.Pipeline who were in a class of their own buoyed

Brazil and Russia to meet again in the final
booking its place after an impressive straight-sets
victory over defending champion Italy. The South
Americans came home 25-17, 25-14, 21-25, 25-20 against a
tired Serbia and Montenegro in the first semi-final to
book their second appearance in a World Championship
final in the team’s history. They will face Russia, who
can now only improve on their record at the last three
World Championships, where they took consecutive bronze
medals. |

Tournament:
Burkina Faso achieved the double Men and Women Gold
Ouagadougou,
Burkina Faso, October 18-: the organizers Burkina Faso
achieved both Men’s and Women’s gold in the CAVB Zone
III Solidarity Tournament held in Ouagadougou, Burkina
Faso last week.
The annual competition which is held under support of
French Volleyball Federation showed the participation of
4 teams in each gender which are Burkina Faso, Togo,
Cote d’Ivoire and Benin.

Somalia, July 12-: The Somali Volleyball Federation has
organized successfully its 6th Beach Volleyball
Tournament competition which was held in Mogadishu,
Banadir Region, Somalia. The competition comes as one of
