Mozambique National beach volleyball Championship:
Increased Participating Teams and Prize Money
The national beach volleyball championship in Mozambique will be held this year in Miramar beach in the capital Maputo with a new and more professional form. For the first time prize money of 15.000 USD in both men and women categories will be distributed. Teams from the 11 provinces of the country will participate this year in the qualifications in 19 and 20 November. The zonal qualifications will be held in Pemba for the Northern zone, Beira for the central zone and in Maputo for the Southern zone. Five men and women teams will qualify from each of the central and Northern zones and six from the southern to the final round in Maputo to complete the sixteen teams competing for the title. The finals will be held in 26 and 27 November.
"The competition will feature much more progress this year after we succeeded to put it as one of the most famous African competitions in the last few years" Said Mozambique Volleyball Federation President Mr. Camilo Antao. "This year will show more sponsors and more participating teams to increase area of participation in this popular sport which attract big number of spectators in the last few years." He added.
