December 2005 – The FIVB is pleased to announce that it
has concluded an agreement with FIPAV, the Italian
Volleyball Federation, for the organisation of the men’s
2010 Volleyball World Championships in Italy.

President
Dominique Atchawé was re-elected Benin Volleyball
Federation President for 4 years following the elections
of the new Board of Administration and executive
committee this week. In presence of the rrepresentatives
of 39 clubs the President of the Federation was
unanimously elected with 38 votes against one vote for
his competitive Bernard Zohoun.

Six teams to take part in
regional tournament in Kenya
Six Countries have confirmed participation in the East
and Central Africa Volleyball Championships which throws
off at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani on
December 9-11. According to Kenya Volleyball Federation
secretary general Jacob Owiti, Rwanda, DRC Congo,
Uganda, Tanzania and Zanzibar along with hosts Kenya
will battle it out inthe regional tournament for both
men and women set to mark the end of volleyball season
in East Africa this year.

New Look National Women Volleyball Team
The Kenya
Volleyball Federation (KVF) has embarked on grooming a
young women national team as it prepares for next year's
World Championships in Japan, World Cup in 2007 and 2008
Olympic Games in Beijing.

MAFOLOFOLO Club of Botswana won the THEBEPHATSHWA
competition of the Top One Mageu after they claimed a
difficult 3-2 victory over KUTLWANO in the final match
(27-29, 25-14, 25-14, 22-25, 15-13). Mafolofolo used the
artistry of the setter Kelebogile Mahupela who was
chosen as the competition best setter and also the solid
block of Dipolelo Nkele to achieve the victory. |
