EGYPT STARTS PREPARATION TO
ALL ARAB GAMES
Egypt men volleyball team started the preparation to All
Arab Games in Algeria October 2004 by playing three
friendly matches against Croatia men team in Cairo this
week in three successive days in Cairo Stadium hall as
Egypt had a stunning 3-1 victory in the first match
after a very good performance of Egyptian players
specially Hamdy El-Safy and the efficient setter Mohamed
Abdel-Rahman.
In the second match Egypt had another surprise victory
in straight sets 3-0 after a good game in both attacks
and defense led by the experienced star El-Safy.
In the third match Saturday, the Croatian players did
their best to take the revenge so they played the best
match to win 3-0 after a good performance in block and
back line defense.
The Serbian coach of Egyptian team, Vecline Vukovic
injected new blood in the team to replace the old
players who lost the African Olympic ticket against
their Arch rivals, Tunisia. He added four players from
the youth team who won the bronze medal in the Boys U-19
World Championship in Cairo 2001. Mohamed Roshdy, Nabil
abdel-Hai and Ashraf Abdel-Aal played the third match to
take the international experience.
Egypt will share in an international tour in United Arab
Emirates this month before the participation in the Arab
Games
