AFRICA HONORS ACOSTA
In the name of African Volleyball Confederation and all
National Federation, CAVB President Dr. Amr Elwani
remitted a decoration (Necklace) to FIVB President Dr.
Ruben Acosta during the 29th FIVB World Congress in
Porto, Portugal to congratulate him for the great
achievements he did to the sport and particularly his
permanent support to Africa and in honor of his twenty
years at the helm of the world wide volleyball
federation .
CAVB surprised the Congress by being the first
Confederation to do so. Dr. Elwani Declared Solemnly "
The best person to receive this first-of -its-kind honor
could be non other than President Acosta. It's a symbol
of the great job he has done and his huge contribution
to volleyball and I'm proud to have the honor of
presenting this decoration to President Acosta". Dr.
Elwani presented the decoration in the company of two
African members of the Board of Adminstration , Mr. Habu
Gumel from Nigeria and Mr. Abdelhadi Ghazali from
Morocco as well as Mr. Charles Panou, CAVB Executive
Director.
The African Surprise was appreciated by all the
delegations specially because it had been kept as a
secret till Dr. Elwani made the announcement
spontaneously. |
