Solidarity Tournament in Togo
Togo Women and Benin Men clinched the Title
Lome, Togo, December 25-:
The Organizer Togo women team and Benin men Team won the
title of the
ninth Solidarity Tournament held in Lome, Togo. The
competition which showed three teams in each category
and supported by France under supervision of the FIVB
was very successful helped to increase the volleyball
activity of the Francophone countries.
In the Women’s final Togo defeated Burkina Faso
3-1(20-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-13). Togo superstar Dodo
Pisso led here team by here strong hits and effective
block.
In men’s final Benin defeated Burkina Faso 3-1 (25-17,
22-25, 25-19,25-11) for the second successive time after
gaining the eighth edition in Niger 2003. Lucien Assogba
and Fredy Zossou were the stars of the winner.
The final was attended by Togo Volleyball Federation
President Mr. Sewa Prince Agbodjan who expressed his
gratitude to the participating teams and their imminent
participation which lead to the great success of the
competition specially in Women’s category.
The 2005 of the solidarity tournament will be organized
by Benin.
