2005 Debswana Men's Independence Cup:
PDF and Teletswana clubs to final
PDF and Teletswana clubs secured their final spot vacancies in 2005 Debswana Men's Independence Cup held in Mahalapye Railways Grounds with participation of 13 clubs.
The participating teams were divided into 4 preliminary pools as pool A includes BDF, Orapa and Desert Kings- Pool B; Teletswana, Mafolofolo and Itekeng- Pool C; Spartans, Tanian, Prisons- and Pool D; Mag Stimela, Kutlwano, V/ Seekers and Stars.
The first two teams in each pool through a round robin were qualified to the quarterfinal where a knock out system was applied after till BDF defeated Mafolofolo in the semifinal 3-2(23-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-17, 18-16). Teletswana defeated Mag Stimela in the second semifinal in another thriller five sets match (23-25, 25-19, 18-25, 28-26, 16-14).
The Women's tournament will be held 24-25 September 2005 at BNPC Grounds (Gaborone). The date and venue for the finals will be announced later.
