WOMEN TEAM WON THE AFRICAN CUP
CAVB DETERMINE THE QUALIFICATION TO THE WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP
El-Ahly women team of Egypt insures the win of African
Cup of Clubs' champions which ended today in Cairo
defeating Pipeline of Kenya 3/1(25/23-23/25-27/25-25/8)
in the final day. CAVB will decide to allow Ahly to
represent Africa in the World Club Championship in
Italy.
Sonel of Cameroon defeated Mouloudia of Algeria
3/1(19/25-25/17-25/17-25/23) to raise its points to 8
equalizing the total points of Pipeline. Both team were
equalized also in set ratio(11/9) But Sonel got the
second place by points ratio leaving the third place for
Pipeline.
Injs of Cameroon got the fourth place defeating in its
last match Tihad Sportive of Morocco
3/0(25/17-25/16-25/12)to raise the total points to 8 but
with less set ratio than both Pipeline and Sonel.
Mouloudia was placed fifth with 6 points then Tihad
sixth with 5 points.
The final match was very exciting as Pipeline player did
their best to compensate the loss of the cup which was
determined before the final date. Ahly won the first set
hardly 25/23 after good attacking complexes of the best
player in the competition Tahani Toson and the best
setter Miral Raouf.
The second set was very exciting as pipeline team led
from the start till the end due to the good performance
of the spiker Jabkosqei and Chege Lucy and perfect block
of Leonidr Kmende to finish the set 25/23.
In the third set Tehany toson and the perfect server
Noran Meghawry regained rhythm to end the longest set in
the match 27/25. In the fourth set the high spirit of
Ahly player ended the set easily 25/8
