EGYPT MEN U-21 PREPARE TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Egypt men volleyball team Under 21 started its count down preparation to the 2003 Men’s U-21 World Championship known to be held in Tehran-Iran 23-31 August 2003. The preparation will start in an internal camp in Cairo in 15th June till 26th June, as the team will leave for Greece to share in four nations’ tour with Holland, Romania and the hosts Greece. After Greece tour the team will share in another big tour in Russia 2-9 July with three big teams already qualified to the World Championship; Brazil, Russia and Poland and this is considered the most important period of the preparation. The team will return back to Egypt to continue local preparation till 4th August as they will leave again for Poland 5-13 August to play 5 matches against Poland team. Again the team will return home accompanied by Poland team to prepare in a local tour with Poland, Russia and Canada. The Egyptian Federation asked also Brazil to share in the final preparation tour, as it will be in its way to Iran to participate in the World Championship.
Egyptian head coach Sherif El-Shemerly chooses 18 players to start the preparation to be decreased to 16 before the international tours then again to 12 before the World Championship. The coach will depend on the players who got the fourth place in the 2001 boys’World Championship in Egypt.
Egypt will play in Group A in the world Championship with the host Iran, Venzeuela and South Korea.
