EGYPT MEN PREPARATION TO AFRICAN NATIONS’ CHAMPIONSHIP
Egypt men team started the early stage preparations to both African Nations Championship known to be held in Cairo next August and All Africa Games in Nigeria in October 2003 under supervision of head Coach Abdel-Hamid El-Wassimy. 18 players were chosen to start the physical training before the technical programme. The team will enter the stage of friendly matches in July by playing against the Russian second team three matches in three successive days 7-9 July.
After that there will be an international 4 Nations tour in Cairo 11-13 in presence of 3 national teams; Russia, Portugal and Kazakhstan. Then Egypt team will share in the African Volleyball Gala Tournament in Nigeria where Portugal, Russia, Nigeria and Egypt will compete.
Returning from Nigeria in 22 July the team will continue local preparation till the start of the African Nations championship in the 1st of August.
It’s well known that the champion of the latter championship will qualify to the World Cup in Japan.
