UNDER FIVB SUPERVISION:
PORTUGAL INSURED PARTICIPATION IN AFRICAN GALA CHAMPIONSHIP
Portugal volleyball national team insured participation in African volleyball Gala Championship in Nigeria July 18-22 and sent the final list of 12 players and 6 officials to the CAVB.
The Portuguese team will play in an International tour in Cairo in its way to participate in Gala. The list of players includes some of the best players in Portugal now.
Gala championship will include 4 national teams; Nigeria the host country, Egypt, Portugal and Russia and will be held in the form of one round-Rubin.
Dr. Amr Elwani the CAVB President stated that this competition is considered as a promotion tour for Africa volleyball as advised by FIVB President Dr. Ruben Acosta to push Africa volleyball towards the world level. He added that Gala will be an opportunity for good cooperation between Africa and Europe volleyball to get the international experience. Also VIS COARSE will be held for some African officials during the competition
