TEAMS IN EGYPTIAN TOUR
PORTUGAL AND RUSSIA PLAY IN CAIRO
Four National Teams will compete in the Egyptian
International Volleyball Tour, which will start in Cairo
on Thuresday 10th July. Egypt will share by 2 teams, the
first team which prepare to the African Nations’
Championship in Cairo and the Under 21 team preparing to
the Nen’s U-21 World Championship in Iran. The other 2
teams are Portugal and Russia.

14th MEN'S AFRICAN NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP
7 AFRICAN COUNTRIES COMPETE FOR A PLACE IN THE WORLD CUP
Seven African countries will compete for a place in the
World Cup 2003 in Japan, through their participation in
the 14th Men's African Nations Championship in
Cairo-Egypt 1-7 August. The African Champion will
qualify to the World Cup in Japan 16-30 November 2003.

Nations’ Championship known to be held in Cairo 1-10

GERMANCO BENIN CHAMPION
Germanco the new volleyball team achieved a big surprise
as it won the Benin Regional Men's championship of
atlantic area on the expense of the last year's champion
Postel. The final was very exciting as the new emerging
team won 3/1 to get the championship for the first time
in history. The competition is for the Atlantic region.

Burkina Faso Volleyball National Championship ended this
week by the finals of Men and Women competitions Which
have been played in ouagadougou at the court of MJCO.

TUNIS MEN PREPARATION TO AFRICAN NATIONS' CHAMPIONSHIP
Tunis men team started this week the final preparation
to the African Nations' Championship which will be held
in Cairo 1-10 August 2003 and will qualify the champion
to the World Cup in Japan this year.

Portugal volleyball national team insured participation
in African volleyball Gala Championship in Nigeria July
18-22 and sent the final list of 12 players and 6
officials to the CAVB.

EGYPT AND MOROCCO BOYS LEAVE CAIRO
FOR WORLD BOYS’ CHAMPIONSHIP
Egypt and Morocco boys teams will leave together Egypt
for Thailand tomorrow ( Tuesday) to participate in the
8th Boys’ U-19 World Championship after finishing
together the last camping in Cairo. Egypt and Morocco
teams played 4 friendly matches in Cairo Stadium during
the 7 days camping

20 TEAMS IN THE STRONGEST EVER COMPETITION
The African National teams qualified to the 8th All
Africa Games known to be held in Abuja-Nigeria 4-18
October 2003 were determined after the end of zonal
qualifications.

22ND AFRICAN CUP OF CLUBS’ CHAMPIONS
AL-AHLY WON THE CUP AND QUALIFIED TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Al-Ahly men team of Egypt continued the success of
Egyptian volleyball in the last two years, as they won
the 22nd African Cup of Clubs’Champions to qualify to
the world championship. Al-Ahly defeated Olympique de
Kelibia of Tunis in the final 3/0 (25/15-33/31-27/25).

CAVB DETERMINE THE QUALIFICATION TO THE WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP
El-Ahly women team of Egypt insures the win of African
Cup of Clubs' champions which ended today in Cairo
defeating Pipeline of Kenya 3/1(25/23-23/25-27/25-25/8)
in the final day. CAVB will decide to allow Ahly to
represent Africa in the World Club Championship in
Italy.
