Egypt faces Serbia with a
National coach
Cairo,
Egypt, June 21, 2007-: Egypt will face the World class Serbia
team under supervision of a national coach for the first time in
a World League match when they play in the fifth weekend of the
intercontinental round Pool C of the 2007 World league at the
big Hall of Cairo Stadium Complex on Friday. The Egyptian coach
Ahmed Zakaria who was the Assistant Coach for the Polish head
coach Grzegorz Rys took over the responsibility as a successor
of the later since last Tuesday after the team returned back
from Russia where they lost against Russia twice 3-0 and 3-1 in
the fourth weekend in Kazan.
Zakaria who led the Egyptian team to the historic fifth position
in the 2005 Grand Champions Cup in Japan will be assisted by the
previous international player Hani Meselhi and the statistician
Mohamed Meselhi.
“Still we will are searching for the first victory in the World
League and it is now near after our team’s performance against
Russia last weekend when we were near a victory on their
homelands.” Said the new Egyptian coach, after he led his team
in the first training session in the preparation to Serbia
match. “We hope to use our new system to appear in good
performance against Serbia and to prepare through the rest of
World League matches to the important competitions in 2007
starting from All Africa Games in Algeria next month.” He added.
Still Having hopes of a final round ticket, the Serbian team had
nothing except victories in the rest of their matches so the
head coach Igor Kolakovic selected most of his first class
players for this match led by his star Ivan Miljkovic. The team
arrived on Wednesday and had 2 training sessions on Cairo
Stadium complex before the match.
The match will be broadcasted live through both the Egyptian TV
channel 2 and the Nile Sports Channel and expected to feature a
big number of spectators in the big hall whose capacity exceed
25.000 like the match against Russia when nearly 12.000
spectators attended both third weekend matches.
Serbia is ranked third in Pool C of the intercontinental round
with a win- loss ratio of 4-4, while Egypt comes at the bottom
of the pool with 8 points from 0-8 ratio. |
