Egypt added two players to face Serbia in the second weekend

Versac, Serbia, May 30, 2007-: Egypt added two main players to the squad which played the first weekend of the 2007 World League against Cuba in Havana to Face Serbia in the second weekend matches 1 and 2 June. The strong opposite Ahmed Salah and the efficient right attacker Mahmoud Abdel Kader join the team on Wednesday in Serbia after the first ended his short professional career in United Arab Emirates and the second ended his last year exam.

The two players will add to the strength of the team which lost both matches in the first weekend against Cuba 3-1 and 3-0 before meeting Serbia which lost also twice against Russia in the first weekend in Moscow in the same set score.

Both team search for the first victory in the second weekend when both national teams meet for the first time in history after Egypt met the former Yugoslavia only once in the European Championship in Romania 1955.

"I think we can play better now after the return back of our strong right attacker Ahmed Salah who was our main star in the last World Championship in Japan 2006." Said the Polish Head Coach of Egypt Grzegorez Rys after his team arrived directly from Cuba to Serbia to make a short camp before the second weekend. "We will improve match by match like the last year's competition after we add all our absent stars. We had now two important key players; the main setter Abdalla Abdel Salam and the team captain Hamdy El Safy, both will join the team from the third week end in Cairo." He added
