FIVB supports CAVB Beach volleyball new strategy

Cairo, Egypt, February 17, 2010- In the framework of the FIVB strategy to establish Beach volleyball fully professional department in all the continental confederations, the FIVB Beach volleyball Director Mr. Angelo Squeo visited the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Headquarters for a meeting to establish the newly formed Beach Volleyball Department that fulfill the FIVB requirements to implement the prolonged plan of the volleyball world governing body to widespread the sport all over the continent.

The meeting of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Department establishment aimed at making all the guidelines to involve all the continental National Federations to participate in the 2012 London Olympic Games qualification as well as involving all the continental zones in the beach volleyball activity through three competition phases; the sub zonal, the zonal and the whole continental levels.

According to the proposal of the FIVB President Mr. Jezhong Wei and the FIVB Beach Volleyball Department guided by Mr. Ary Graca and Vicente Araujo, Mr. Squeo had this special visit to the CAVB Headquarters to finalize all the technical and administration facilities and to put the African Beach volleyball competition plan.

The final plan of the CAVB Beach volleyball calendar will be presented to the next CAVB Board of Administration 19- 20 March 2010 for final approval.
