Namibia organized a successful coaches course
in the framework of their strategic planning

June 1, 2009- The Namibian Volleyball Federation has conducted a
successful level one coaches course for teachers from all 13
regions, from the 18 to 22 May 2009 in Windhoek at Augustineum
Secondary School. The course was conducted by two NVF
instructors, namely Mr. Joel Matheus as course director and Mr.
Edward Tomas as assistant.
33 Participants in total have taken part in the 5 day course
under the National Coaches Certification Program that caters for
coaches courses from level I to III. The target groups of level
I and II courses are school teachers, future coaches of young
players and also for facilitators and promoters of Volleyball
and Beach Volleyball development in their regions.
Theoretical tutoring and practical coaching skills in the field
of Volleyball are the central education objectives of the NCCP.
The emphasis of this program was based on teaching the basics of
volleyball to children and young people and to motivate and
develop them to an advance level.
Participants who took part in this course had the possibility to
be introduced to the fundamental ideas and concepts of
Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, refresh and deepen their
knowledge, abilities and skills, widen their experience in the
field of Volleyball and receive NVF recognition as qualified
coaches.
Participants have been examined at the end of the course. Only
12 participants have pass both the theory and practical exam,
meaning that they are now qualify as NVF level one coaches.
