Tubby Reddy wins overwhelming
vote of confidence in South Africa elections
Johannesburg,
South Africa: Volleyball South Africa’s (VSA) Annual General
Meeting (AGM) held at the Olympic House in Johannesburg ended on
a high note for the majority of the incumbents who were
re-elected onto the national cabinet for the next four years.
For the first time in the history of the National Federation
several posts were intensely contested including that of the
crucial portfolio of President.
In what was an overwhelming vote of confidence for the incumbent
President, Tubby Reddy, membership re-elected him with a
landslide margin over former Volleyball South Africa Vice
President, Nthebe Molope by 26 votes to 8.
Reddy’s landslide victory was a testimony to his astute
leadership and service to the sport at the national and
continental levels. Reddy also serves as the First Vice
President of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB),
making him the second most powerful volleyball administrator on
the African continent.
Treasurer, Vinesh Maharaj; Secretary-General Kriba Reddy and
Beach Volleyball Director
Daniel van Brussel retained their positions on the cabinet with
run away victories over Tania Lewis from Cape Town ( 30 votes to
4); Clive Doren, Pretoria ( 26 votes to 8) and Johannesburg
based Peter McGonigle (27 votes to 7) respectively.
Former Development Director, Anthony Mokoena from the Free State
was unanimously elected to the post of Vice President.

unopposed.
