Fofao, Volleyball
Maestro without a conductor baton
Kumamoto,
Japan, November 12, 2007- Usually the Maestro of the Concert
uses his conductor baton to lead the team of Musicians, but in
the volleyball field the condition is different as the Brazilian
skillful setter Fofao doesn’t use a baton to lead her players as
a captain but she uses her volleyball full mind to lead the
concert of Samba in the World Cup with her full sensations.
Fofao already deal with volleyball by sense, as she is thinking
that to play volleyball by the mind is much more important than
to play with the muscles. By this theory the intellectual setter
makes the different combinations by the net that disturb any
team and any kind of defense.
Her coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes is very confident with his
efficient setter to apply his strategy of tactics because he
knows that she is very intelligent to deal with any situation.
“I’m happy to see a player of Fofao kind in my team because she
is calm and play with her mind.” Roberto said. “In any critical
situation she can deal with comfortably because she is
intelligent and can read the game and follow up all the weakness
points in the opponent, so I rely on her experience to lead the
team in the critical situation and I need less interference from
the technical area.”
Fofoa is concentrating now on her volleyball career because she
had no time to waste to achieve her dreams with Brazil team in
the near future with the Olympic Games coming as a main target.
“I finished my study of physical education and now I live for
volleyball only.” Fofao said. “I spend 8 hours daily in training
and in the free time I’m watching volleyball matches everywhere
to get more experience, and I have only few hours every now and
then to see the movies”.
“My job in the volleyball court usually needs assistance from my
colleagues and I’m lucky to play with a group because they have
all the volleyball skills that allow them to use my balls
effectively in attacks”. She concluded.
