Proposals to exchange referees with Europe and formation of African Women collective team

Cairo, Egypt, August 23, 2007-: CAVB Executive committee started their meeting on Thursday 23 August in Cairo, Egypt led by CAVB President Dr. Amr Elwani with many fruitful proposals which will be put in front of the board members when they start their meeting on Friday.

Dr. Elwani presented the most prominent proposal during the meeting where he featured the importance of exchange the referees between Africa and Europe during the continental competition which will have double benefit for both sides. He showed the importance of having world class referees in African competitions as neutral referees while as Europe use the African referees in the European competitions according to a protocol between the African (CAVB) and European (CEV) confederations.

The Executive had also proposal regarding the implementation of the African beach Volleyball circuits at the club level as was decided during the last board meeting. The Executive Committee also expressed the importance of continuing the zonal competitions which started successfully in 2007 and considered as a qualification to All Africa Games. The zonal competitions will be held annually as a qualification to all the continental competitions as a system to increase the National teams involved in the international competitions.

The executive members had another proposal of selecting the Women's African Volleyball team which will include the best players from the national teams of all the African courtiers. This team will be sponsored to play many international matches all over the world as a way to increase the experience of the players internationally specially for the teams that didn't qualify to the world class competitions.
