Khartoum,
Sudan, May 23, 2007-: Sudan Volleyball League trophy went for
the second successive year to Dim Hamad Club from Gadarf state
of Sudan after they ended the 18 weeks' competition at the top
of the table in points differential with their compatriots
Marrikh who ended the season with the same number of points.
Sagana team ended the competition in the third position.
Dim Hamad collected 34 points from their matches winning 16
matches out of 18 and losing only twice. Marrikh achieved the
same win- loss ratio but Dim hamad came first with the point
ratio after a thriller competition between the two arc rivals
all through the season.
Sagana came third with 32 points followed by Nahda in the fourth
position with 30 points. Etihad Rifaa and Etifak were relegated
to the second division after they were ranked in the last two
positions while Police and Andalous stars will play in their
places in the next season's first division league after they
came in the first two positions of the second division.
The final matches of the competition were attended by Governor
of Gadarf state Mr. Abdel Rahman El Khedr and the Sports
Minister representative of the state Mr. Abdel Elah Abo Sen who
expressed their happiness with the standard of the competition
this season and the exciting end in the last weekend with two
big teams level in points to settle the competition in points
ratio.
It is well known that Dim Hmad won the competition last season
and represented the country in the last year's African Cup
winners Cup in Cairo 2006
