Cuban Coach for Algeria to prepare for All Africa Games
Alger, Algeria, January 17-: The Algerian volleyball federation decided to contract the Cuban coach, Antonio Tejeda to take over the responsibility of the Algerian team in the preparation of their National team to All Africa Games which will be held 11-23 July in their home lands. Algeria will be one of the big favorites to win the gold medal of this competition with the reigning African Champions Egypt and Tunisia.

The head coach will arrive to Algeria within days to arrange for the job to have enough time to prepare for both 2007 big volleyball events which are All Africa games in July and the 16th African Nations Championship in South Africa in September.

The Cuban coach worked before with technical staff of the Cuban national team and had a great international experience as well as his great experience as an international players with his country. He comes to Algeria according to Cooperation Protocol between the Algerian and Cuban volleyball federations. The contract will be for two years during which the coach will have a complete staff to put the new strategy for the Algerian volleyball to regain their capability to compete for a continental title.

Algeria is considered one of the big forces in African volleyball although they had only two continental titles under their belt during the fifteen competitions held till 2005. Their objectives are to win the gold medal of All Africa Games in their home lands and compete for the gold in the 2007 African Nations Championship which is qualifying for the 2007 FIVB World Cup.
