Egypt Women Head to Japan for the World Championship
Cairo, Egypt October 27-: Egypt Volleyball Women team will leave for Japan on Saturday 28th of October to participate in the World Championship to start on October 31 after they ended their last preparation in a camp in Thailand on Friday where they played their last warm up matches.
With an objective to qualify to the second round, the Egyptian team becomes ready to compete in the prestigious FIVB event after three consecutive months of preparations.
The Egyptian team will include a mixture of the experienced players with many of the youngsters who represented their country in the African age group teams under 18 and under 20.
Veteran Ahly club player Yosra Selem, the team main setter who has participated in 2002 World Championship was included in the team with the experienced middle blocker Ingy El Shamy and the skilful Libero Sara Ali was chosen also after her recovery from the injury .
After she was chosen as the competition most valuable player MVP in the Women under 20 African Nations championship, the promising youngster Nada Nassif will join the national first team for the first time at the age of 16.
Egypt women final squad includes: Yosra Selem, Miral Abdel Kader (Setters), , Dina Yousef, Sherihan Abdel Fattah, Marwa Abdel Razak, Nada Nassif (Attackers), Hagar Maged, Menna Allah Mohamed, Mona Badawy (Middle Blockers), Ingy El Shamy, Samar Ebeed (Opposite) and Sara Ali (Libero). Head Coach Juan Martinez, and assistant coach Mamdouh Ismail.
