CAVB Zone III Solidarity Tournament:

Burkina Faso achieved the double Men and Women Gold
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, October 18-: the organizers Burkina Faso achieved both Men’s and Women’s gold in the CAVB Zone III Solidarity Tournament held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso last week.
The annual competition which is held under support of French Volleyball Federation showed the participation of 4 teams in each gender which are Burkina Faso, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire and Benin.
In the Men’s Category Burkina Faso defeated Cote d’Ivoire in a fantastic final attended by big number of spectators, while Togo won the bronze medal leaving Benin at the bottom of the table.
In the Women’s gender Burkina Faso won the gold medal defeating Togo in the final while Cote d’Ivoire was ranked third leaving Benin in the fourth position.
“We are happy to resume this zonal activity which will increase the volleyball popularity in this zone countries,” Said CAVB Zone III and Burkina Faso Volleyball Federation President Mr. Issiaka Sawadogo. “We are very interested to continue this activity which will aid our sport to progress in this area in the western part of the continent with participation of more teams in future.” He added.
