2006 Women under 21 African Nations Championship:
The Favorites Tunisia and Egypt achieved first victories
Alexandria, Egypt, September 16-: Two of the big favorites Tunisia and Egypt achieved both their first victories in the opening day of the eleventh 2006 Women’s Under 20 African Nations Championship at Union club hall in Alexandria, Egypt. The organizers defeated Seychelles while Tunisia had a harder victory over the solid Nigeria. The winner of the competition will secure the 2007 World Championship vacancy of this age category.

Nairobi, Kenya, September 16-: As national women volleyball team training goes to the wire next week, Japanese coach Sadatoshi Sugawara is plotting how to convincingly sweep past Costa Rica and Chinese Taipei in the preliminaries so as to reach the second round for the first time ever at this year’s World Volleyball Championships in Japan.

Successful VCP Course for Volleyball teachers in Cameroon
Cameroon Volleyball Federation organized a very successful course for school teachers in Yaoundé under supervision of FIVB as a volleyball cooperation programme (VCP) course in the continent. Thirty four teachers attended the course representing three countries representing 30 schools and 4 clubs and they were all satisfied with the results and programme of the course. .

Casablanca, Morocco, September 2-: The second favorites Tunisia secured the second position of the 12th Men’s Under 21 African Nations following their respected victory over the organizers Morocco in the fifth and final day of the competition held at Mohamed V Hall in Casablanca, Morocco on Friday.

Tunisia Achieves the double qualifications to the World Championships
Tizi-Ouzu, Algeria, August 27-: Tunisia Girls followed the steps of their Boys counterparts and qualified to the 2007 Girls U 18 World Championship when they defeated South Africa in straight sets in the third and final day of the eighth Girls under 18 African Nations Championship on Saturday at Tezroet Said hall in Tizi-Ouzu, Algeria. Tunisia boys Under 19 already had qualified early this week to the World championship.

Kelibia, Tunisia, August 23-: The Organizers, Tunisia clinched the 2007 Boys Under 19 World Championship following their victory over Algeria in straight in the third and final day of the Ninth Boys Under 19 African Nations Championship held at the famous Issa Ben Nasr hall in the city of Kelibia, Tunisia on Wednesday. The victory allowed Tunisia to gain the African cup and subsequently the only African slot in the prestigious FIVB Championship.
