2006 Volleyball World Championship:

Cameroon Women started the active preparation

Yaoundé, Cameroon, September 9-: Cameroon Women Volleyball team started this weekend the most important stage of their preparation to the finals of the 2006 Women's Volleyball World Championship to be held in Japan as the team entered a camp in the French city of Hagetmau till the end of current September under supervision of the head coach Peter Nonnenbroich who was designated by FIVB to assist one of the three African teams which will represent the content in the prestigious event in the women category.

The team will include all the European based professional players led by Ruth Diboue who is registered to Hainaut club in France. The camp will include also some friendly matches against some French clubs. Cameroon will end their preparation through another camp in China for about a month from 29 September to 29 October where the team will play their last friendly matches against top teams their before going directly to Japan to participate in the World Championship.

Cameroon team started their countdown preparation on the first of last August through local preparations then another camp in Berlin, Germany 12- 31 August.

It is well known that Cameroon qualified to the World Championship after the won the African Pool C which included Tunisia, Uganda and Mauritius. They will be one of the three African women teams in the finals with the other two qualifiers Egypt and Kenya. Cameroon will play in Pool C in the finals with Netherlands, USA, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Kazakhstan.
