CAVB Board of Administration hold extraordinary meeting for the Development Plan
Cairo, Egypt, June 9, 2009- CAVB Board of administration held its extra ordinary meeting in Cairo, Egypt headed by Dr. Amr Elwani after the successful FIVB- CAVB development Conference that showed the participation of 50 participants from 30 countries. The board studied all the development plans presented by Dr. Elwani and the CAVB Strategic planning that started actually since 2 months through the Coaches and VIS courses supported by the world Volleyball Governing body (FIVB)

Cameroon downs Senegal in a crucial encounter
Lagos, Nigeria, June 6, 2009- The big contenders Cameroon women’s volleyball team defeats Senegal in straight sets in what is described as the actual final in the fourth day of the 2010 Women’s World Championship Africa Pool A tournament held at Sir Omolade Okoya Thomas Hall in Lagos Nigeria on Saturday. The victory puts Cameroon as the greatest favorite to win the four nations tournament before the final match between Cameroon and Nigeria on Sunday.

Zamalek wins the African Championship for the second consecutive time

 Cairo, Egypt, May 1, 2009- Zamalek of Egypt wins the cup of the 2009 Men’s African Club Championship for the fourth time in the history of the competition since its birth in 1984 following their thriller victory over their arch rivals Al Ahly in the final of the competition in front of 5000 spectators who were kept on their toes for 2 hours here at Abdalla El Faysal Hall in Al Ahly club in Cairo, Egypt on Friday. Zamalek repeated the victory over their compatriots for the second year in a row after they achieved the same in the last competition in Misurata, Libya 2008.

 Nairobi, Kenya, April 5, 2009- Al Ahly Volleyball Women team of Egypt Becomes the queens of Africa for the sixth time in their history after their thriller victory over Kenya Commercial Bank in the final match the 2009 Women’s African clubs Championship in front of 3000 home spectators here at Moi International Sports Complex of Kasarani in Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday. Bejaia of Algeria wins the bronze medal following their victories over Injis of Cameroon in the third place match.
 Bafia of Cameroon secured the fifth position after beating APR of Rwanda, followed by Water Sports of Ethiopia who finished seventh after beating Kutlwano of Botswana. .

Togo Dominates Beach volleyball tournament in Lome
Lome, Togo, June 17, 2009- Togo players dominate the 2009 Beach volleyball tournament held at Lome beach in Togo that show 50 men and women participants from the host country Togo and the neighbors Benin. The competition was attended by a big number of spectators who enjoyed the competition that was the seventh in the history of beach tournament in the West African country.

Namibia organized a successful coaches course in the framework of their strategic planning
Namibia, June 1, 2009- The Namibian Volleyball Federation has conducted a successful level one coaches course for teachers from all 13 regions, from the 18 to 22 May 2009 in Windhoek at Augustineum Secondary School. The course was conducted by two NVF instructors, namely Mr. Joel Matheus as course director and Mr. Edward Tomas as assistant.

Cairo, Egypt, April 26, 2009- The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) President Dr. Amr Elwani closed the coaches and VIS course attended by 30 participants which comes in the framework of the Development Plan adopted by the CAVB Board of Administration. The 6 days course was very successful and fulfilled all the necessary items for all the modern tools of coaching.
